The more people the better as far as I'm concerned. We ought to publicise
the group anyhow when we launch the new reading programme.
I was meant to be collating the list, but my attention has wandered away
from it. Notably towards the Ticklish Subject by Zizek. After Negri its
quite seductive esp as a means to reconsider the political in postmodernity,
and from the point of view of a similar de-centred ontology. It seems to
have importance differences though, it still views the political
authentically as a form of transcendent event, but has quite a nuanced take
on things like human rights, multiculturalism. I'd like to try and include
this one chapter called something like 'Political subjectivisation' in the
section of postmodernity as society state. He would make quite an
interesting sparring partner for Negri ( well interesting to a closet
Hegelian anyhow).
But the list is at the moment still the same as it was presented in the last
email from me..."reading programme! Anymore additions welcomed.

All group members,
There is to be an anti-war teach-in here in San
Francisco this weekend, and I was wondering
if you would object to me inviting some people
from that meeting to join our group.
Right now I think there is a real hunger around here
for theory and unless you are a university student,
your options are fairly slim...you basically
have to go it alone or join up with groups
so dogmatic that they make Louis Proyect look
open-minded.
Also, I am not clear on where we are in compiling
the reading list....should we divide the labor?
Thomas
